கொளற்கரிதாய்க் கொண்டகூழ்த் தாகி அகத்தார் நிலைக்கெளிதாம் நீர தரண்

A fort is that which cannot be captured, which abounds in suitable provisions, and affords a position of easy defence to its inmates
முற்றுகையிட்டுக் கைப்பற்ற முடியாமல், உள்ளேயிருக்கும் படையினர்க்கும் மக்களுக்கும் வேண்டிய உணவுடன், எதிரிகளுடன் போர் புரிவதற்கு எளிதானதாக அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதே அரண் ஆகும்
