Kural 343: Renunciation
அடல்வேண்டும் ஐந்தன் புலத்தை விடல்வேண்டும் வேண்டிய வெல்லாம் ஒருங்கு
Atalventum Aindhan Pulaththai Vitalventum
Ventiya Vellaam Orungu
Let the five senses be destroyed; and at the same time, let everything be abandoned that (the ascetic) has (formerly) desired
ஐம் புலன்களையும் அடக்கி வெல்வதும், அப்புலன்கள் விரும்புகின்றவற்றையெல்லாம் விட்டுவிடுவதும் துறவுக்கு இலக்கணமாகும்
