Kural 1077: Baseness
ஈர்ங்கை விதிரார் கயவர் கொடிறுடைக்குங் கூன்கையர் அல்லா தவர்க்கு

The mean will not (even) shake off (what sticks to) their hands (soon after a meal) to any but those who would break their jaws with their clenched fists
கையை மடக்கிக் கன்னத்தில் ஒரு குத்துவிடுகின்ற முரடர்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பார்களேயல்லாமல், ஈகைக் குணமில்லாத கயவர்கள் ஏழை எளியோருக்காகத் தமது எச்சில் கைகைக்கூட உதற மாட்டார்கள்
